Terms of Service
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Stellek Intelligence (Hongkong) Technology Limited, Room 02, 9/F, The Broadway, 54-62 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, registered in Hong Kong SAR ("we", "us"), covering your use of Oriforma at https://oriforma.com ("the service"). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.
2. Who may use it
You must be at least 16 years old. If you are using the service for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
3. Your account
Give us an email address you control, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at legal@oriforma.com if you think it has been used without your permission.
We will email you a link to confirm your address. Until you confirm it we may limit what the account can do.
4. Your designs stay yours
You keep all rights in the designs, models, files and other material you create or upload ("your content"). We claim no ownership of it.
You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, process it, render it, convert it between formats, and show it back to you and to anyone you choose to share it with. That permission lasts as long as you keep the content on the service and ends when you delete it, except for backup copies that age out on our normal schedule.
Publishing to the public community area is different, and section 5 governs it. In short: the Creative Commons licence you choose when you publish cannot be withdrawn from a version you have already published, and taking a model down stops our future distribution of it rather than undoing what is already out. Read section 5 before you publish.
You confirm you have the rights to the content you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's.
5. Community content
The service has a public community area at https://oriforma.com/community, where published models can be viewed, configured and downloaded by anyone. Browsing it needs no account. Publishing to it is a separate matter: it is not open in every release or every region, and where it is open we enable it account by account while the feature is new.
This section applies to anything you publish there. It applies to every version you have published, including versions published before a feature named in it exists. If you never publish, none of it applies to you.
This section was added on 2026-10-02, and it is new: no account holder had published a model under it before that date. It therefore binds you from the first model you publish and from nothing earlier, and it does not change anything about an account that only ever uses the editor. Where section 13 requires us to email account holders at least 30 days before a material change takes effect, that notice goes out before publishing is opened to anyone beyond the authors we invite directly.
5.1 The permission you give us
You keep ownership of what you publish (section 4). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, render, transform into other formats, generate preview and cover images from, analyse, index and display the published model and its versions, on the service and in the parts of the service that list or feature published work. We may do that on the infrastructure we operate, which may include servers and storage rented from cloud providers.
That permission is irrevocable for as long as any copy, remix, variant or lineage record of the model remains on the service. It exists so that what other people have built on your model keeps working. It is not a transfer of copyright, and it does not let us sell your model as our own work.
5.2 The licence you give the public
When you publish, you choose one of four Creative Commons licences: CC0 1.0, CC BY 4.0, CC BY-SA 4.0 or CC BY-NC 4.0. We do not offer a no-derivatives licence, because configuring and remixing published models is what this area is for. Your choice is recorded with that version and is the licence everyone who downloads it receives.
A Creative Commons licence cannot be revoked. Once a version is out under one, everyone who received it keeps the rights that licence granted, permanently. You can take a model down at any time, and we will stop distributing it to new visitors: it leaves the listings, the search results and the sitemap; its page stops opening, and at an address that was public the visitor gets a short page saying the model is no longer available, which carries none of its content and offers no download; and no new remix or variant can be created from it. Taking it down does not withdraw the licence from a version already published, does not reach copies people have downloaded, and does not reach work other people have already published on the strength of it.
You can delete a published model outright, rather than take it down, when nothing public depends on it, or at any time within 72 hours of publishing it. Once another member's variant, remix or component reference depends on it, a deletion request becomes a takedown with your attribution removed, so that the work built on top of it does not break. Nothing can depend on a model yet, so deletion is currently always available.
How to ask, today. Your account lists the models you have published, and for each one you can set its visibility yourself: public, unlisted, or draft. Until we have reviewed a few of your published models, asking for public does not make the model public straight away: it is held as unlisted, reachable in the meantime only by the private link your account shows for it, and it joins a queue for one of us to look at, who may also refuse it — section 5.9 says what happens if we do. Draft is the strongest withdrawal you can make on your own: the model leaves the listings, the search results and the sitemap, and its page opens for you and for anyone still holding a preview link you issued for it. A preview link you have handed out keeps working until you withdraw it, which your account lets you do. Deleting a model outright, and putting it into the taken-down state described above, are not yet controls in your account: for either, email legal@oriforma.com from the address on your account, naming the model, and say which you want. We act on it promptly, and the 72-hour deletion window above is counted from when you published, not from when we get round to it — a request that reaches us inside the window is honoured as a deletion. The rights in this section do not depend on a button existing; as more of them become controls in your account, this paragraph will say so.
5.3 What other people may build on it, and what survives
The service offers, or will offer, two ways for another member to build on a published model. A variant is a named set of parameter values for your model; it contains no geometry of its own and renders from your model. A remix is a copy of the design itself, carrying a lineage record — the entry that says it came from your model.
These outlive your takedown and your account:
- a variant someone else made keeps working, rendered from the version of your model that was current when they made it, and its page says it is a configuration of a model that has been taken down;
- a remix someone else made stays published, and the lineage shows your model as withdrawn rather than erasing the link;
- a project that reuses a published component of yours keeps the copy inside its own design and is unaffected.
You can ask us to remove your attribution from them, as Creative Commons 4.0 §3(a)(3) entitles you to. Write to legal@oriforma.com; the variant pages and lineage records then say that the original author asked for the credit to be removed.
None of these limits applies when we remove content because it infringes someone's rights or breaks these terms. In that case we remove the parent and, where the same material is in them, the derivatives too.
5.4 Our licence rules
Creative Commons sets some of the rules below; the rest are ours, and they apply on this service whatever the licences would allow elsewhere.
- If any parent is CC BY-SA 4.0, a model derived from it must be CC BY-SA 4.0. That is the licence's own requirement.
- If any parent is CC BY-NC 4.0, a model derived from it must be CC BY-NC 4.0. CC BY-NC has no share-alike clause of its own; this is our rule, so that a non-commercial model cannot be laundered into a commercial one by one remix.
- If a model would have one share-alike parent and one non-commercial parent, we refuse to publish it. The two licences cannot both be satisfied.
- Using a published community component counts as deriving from it for these rules. Whether it legally amounts to an adaptation varies by jurisdiction; we apply the stricter reading.
- A variant is a configuration of its parent model, not a separate work. It carries the parent's licence and the parent's author's attribution.
- "Non-commercial" has the meaning Creative Commons gives it: not primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation. Printing a model to order, selling prints at a market and a workshop making a part for a paying client are all commercial uses.
5.5 What you must have the rights to
You warrant that you hold the rights you need in everything a published model contains, and that publishing it under the licence you chose is something you are allowed to do. That includes geometry you imported from a file, fonts whose outlines end up in the model, text, images used as covers or inputs, and material you took from somewhere else — including from another model on this service, which you may use only within its licence.
If someone brings a claim against us because of what you published, you will cover our reasonable costs and any damages, to the extent the claim arises from your breach of this section.
5.6 What may not be published
Do not publish any of these, anywhere in the community area. This clause is absolute: it applies regardless of whether the law where you are permits the item.
- firearms, their key components, ammunition, and explosive or incendiary devices;
- restricted keys and bypass tools, including handcuff keys, TSA locks, lift and fire-service keys, and lock-bypass devices;
- card skimmer housings and other equipment whose purpose is fraud;
- counterfeit branded parts, or parts carrying someone else's brand marks beyond a plain statement of what they are compatible with;
- sexual content involving minors;
- hate symbols.
Section 8 applies to published content as well, in addition to this clause.
5.7 Reporting infringement
If something published here infringes your copyright, write to our designated contact for infringement notices: Stellek Intelligence (Hongkong) Technology Limited, Room 02, 9/F, The Broadway, 54-62 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, or legal@oriforma.com. Tell us:
- what work you own, and enough to identify it;
- the address of the page or file you are complaining about;
- your name, postal address and email address;
- that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; and
- that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them.
We aim to act on a complete copyright notice within 48 hours. When we remove something we tell the author why, and pass on your notice, including your contact details, so that they can respond. If the author sends a counter-notice stating that the material is theirs or is licensed, we may restore it and will tell you; from that point it is a dispute between you and the author, not with us.
Repeat infringement closes the door: an account against which we uphold three separate infringement notices loses the ability to publish, and we may close it.
Reporting something that is not a copyright matter. A model that is public in the community area can be reported to us by any signed-in account. A report is filed under one of four headings — infringement, inappropriate content, spam, or other — and may carry a note; under "other" a note is required, because without one there is nothing for us to act on. One account can have only one open report on the same model, and there is a daily limit on how many reports an account can file. A report is not a copyright notice and does not start the process above: if you are the rights holder and want the counter-notice process, write to the designated contact named at the start of this section. We read every report, we do not take anything down on the number of reports alone, and we do not tell the author who reported them. Section 2.9 of the Privacy Policy sets out what a report stores and what reaches the author.
5.8 Trademark complaints
Do not put someone else's brand name or logo in a model's title, tags or cover. Saying truthfully what a part fits — "compatible with" a named product — is allowed, and we treat it as descriptive use. If you own a mark and something here misuses it, write to legal@oriforma.com with the mark, its registration if it has one, and the address complained of.
5.9 Moderation, reasons and appeals
We may take down, hide or refuse to publish content that breaks these terms, and we may restrict or close the account behind it. When we act on something you published we tell you what we removed and why — it appears on that model in the list of your published models, and we write to the address on the account — unless the law stops us from doing so or the account was closed for the most serious categories in section 5.6. The reason we give you is written by us; we do not forward the words of whoever reported it.
While a model of yours is taken down by us you cannot change its visibility yourself. The appeal is the way back.
You have 14 days to appeal, and the model shows you the date the window closes. The appeal goes from that same list in your account; you can also write to legal@oriforma.com. Someone other than the person who made the first decision reviews it. If we uphold your appeal we undo what we did: a model we took down goes back, and a request to publish that we refused goes back into the queue to be looked at again. We keep a record of each decision, of the reason given and of the outcome of any appeal.
5.10 Paid plans and published content
Some community features may in future require a paid plan — an export format, or a larger publishing allowance, for example. A plan can change what the service does for you. It changes nothing about the Creative Commons licence of content already published: a licence granted to the public is not withdrawn or narrowed because a plan changed, and we will not put a published model behind a paywall for the people it was published to.
5.11 Translations
You may publish in any language. Where translation is enabled on this service, we may produce machine translations of the text you publish — its title, summary, description, parameter labels and version notes — so that members reading other languages can find your work. A machine translation is not your text and may be wrong; the version you wrote remains available on the model's page. You may replace any translation with your own at any time, and your own translation is used in preference to a machine one. Translations are covered by the same licence as the model they describe, and they do not change who holds the rights in the text you wrote.
6. AI features
Some releases of the service offer AI features that generate models and suggestions from text or images you provide. They are not part of every release or every region, and the editor, your files and your exports do not depend on them. Where they are offered, two things to be clear about.
Your input is processed by a model. What you type and the images you upload are processed by a machine-learning model, which may run on our own infrastructure or at a third-party model provider acting on our behalf, possibly outside your country. Section 4.2 of the Privacy Policy explains this. Do not put confidential information into the AI features.
Output is not guaranteed. Generated geometry may be wrong, may not match what you asked for, may not be manufacturable, and may resemble output given to another user. Check it yourself before relying on it. Section 7 covers what you then make from it.
7. Making real objects
Oriforma produces digital models. Deciding whether a design is safe and fit to be printed, machined or otherwise manufactured is yours, as is operating the machine that makes it. That applies equally to a model you drew yourself, one an AI feature generated and one you downloaded from the community area. We are not responsible for physical outcomes, wasted material, damaged equipment or injury.
Where the service shows an automatic assessment of a model — wall thickness, overhangs, fit, estimated print time or anything similar — treat it as an estimate produced by software, not a certification. It is computed from the geometry alone, knows nothing about your machine, your material or your settings, and can be wrong in both directions. Nothing the service displays is an engineering sign-off, and a model published here is not inspected by us before it appears.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- design weapons or their components, where prohibited by the law that applies to you;
- upload malware, or content that is unlawful, abusive or sexually exploitative of children;
- attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- probe, scan or test our security without our written permission;
- place automated load on the service beyond ordinary use, or circumvent rate limits or quotas;
- resell or redistribute the service itself without our agreement.
Section 5.6 adds a shorter list for content published to the community area. Unlike the weapons line above, it is not conditioned on local law.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at legal@oriforma.com before telling anyone else. We will not pursue you for good-faith research reported that way.
9. Paid plans
Paid plans are not yet active. This section takes effect when they are.
Some features may require a paid subscription. Prices are shown on the pricing page. Payment is handled by a third-party payment processor on pages it hosts; the processor's own terms apply to the payment itself. We may change processor.
Prices, the purchase currency, billing period and any automatic renewal will be shown before you confirm a paid subscription.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the period you chose until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-used periods except where the law requires it.
To request cancellation, a refund or help with a billing dispute, email legal@oriforma.com from the address on your account. Include the relevant invoice reference if you have one. Do not send card details. Refunds are subject to the policy above and any rights you have under applicable law.
We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email, taking effect at your next renewal.
Section 5.10 covers what a plan does and does not change about content already published to the community area.
10. Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. If we withdraw something you rely on, or shut the service down, we will give account holders reasonable notice and a way to export their content.
Keep your own copies of work that matters to you. The export features are there for that.
11. Warranties and liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or the cost of substitute services. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100 if you paid us nothing.
We do not warrant anything about content other members publish, including whether it is accurate, whether it will print, and whether the licence on it is one its author was entitled to grant.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
12. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time from your account settings. Section 8 of the Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data, including anything you published to the community area.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. Unless the law prevents it or the breach is severe, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond and to export your content.
Sections 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 survive the closing of your account, for as long as anything published under them remains on the service.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, close your account.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Hong Kong SAR, and disputes are subject to the courts of Hong Kong SAR. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.
